I guess you should be able to fight with the general unit as well as with a family member, so there shouldn’t be any drawbacks, except the lack of traits. I accidentally broke the Greek mission tree playing as Rome, and wanted to complete a few tasks with the console, but it seems that all Indomita/Invictus console commands dont work Vanilla ones do but all the modded ones just say 'Unknown command'.
